Join together with fellow librarians to strengthen advocacy efforts for certified school librarians and school libraries in your building, district, and state-wide.

Start an AISLE Chapter

If you work or live in a county not listed above and are interested in forming a new AISLE Chapter, please contact the Chapter Function Representative at chapters@aisled.org or click HERE.

Chapter Requirements

Complete the New Chapter Application Form
Three – Four Chapter leaders to lead the Chapter
Minimum of 10 members (inclusive of school and public librarians, library staff, and library students)
At least 50% of the members must be AISLE members or members of their home state school library association
Oversee the scheduling of a minimum of four events that can be social or professional development
Prepare a chapter report for each AISLE Leadership Board meeting, reporting on past and upcoming chapter events
Send a representative to at least one AISLE Leadership Board meeting each year
Maintain communication with the AISLE Chapter Function Representative
Follow financial guidelines and social media best practices as outlined by AISLE

A Chapter toolkit of resources folder to assist with running a Chapter
Google account and Chapter website for communication
Access to ZOOM and Google Meet for virtual meetings
Shared AISLE calendar and newsletter for event promotion to a larger audience
Professional Development Hours (PDH) available for Chapter professional development events
Ability to request a budget of $100 based on AISLE financial availability
Liability insurance for professional development meetings
Time at Conference for Chapter and Chapter leader networking
